Can the Solar Style Solar Charger drain my batteries at night?
NO. The Solar Style Charger has a built-in diode for reverse current protection. This prevents electrical charge from running backwards from your devices battery into the chargers Battery On Board.

Can my Solar Style Charger be left outdoors without a protective covering?
NO. The Solar Style Charger is not waterproof, thus cannot be left outdoors in wet, rainy or snowy conditions without a protective covering.

Do I need direct sunlight to charge up with my Solar Style Charger?
No. The solar panels convert any light into electricity. The amount of time it takes to fully charge your device will be affected by the brightness of the light source but you do not need a clear sunny day to use your Solar Style Charger.

Can my Solar Style Charger be used at night?
YES. By allowing your charger to collect energy during the day and store it in the Battery On Board you can recharge your device using that reserve any time you like, day or night.

How long does it take to fully charge the battery on board?
Specific results depend on the light conditions and the model being used. Please refer to the specifications for each model for more info. As an average, 7-9 hours of optimum sun conditions will either fill or nearly fill the battery on board.

How do I know if the Solar Charger is charging my device?
The first thing you must do is turn the Solar Charger on. Once the charger is on and the device is connected you should see the output L.E.D. blinking red. This means that the charger is outputting power into your device. If the output L.E.D. is not blinking, this means two things. It could mean that the Solar Charger B.O.B. has no power or there is not enough sunlight hitting the charger in order for it to output power to an external device. As well most devices have their own charge indicator this is the best way to see that the solar charger is in-fact charging your product.

When do I know if the Solar Charger is fully charged?
The input L.E.D. light will turn solid. If the input L.E.D. light is blinking green this means that the charger is still charging. When chargin via the sun, the LED does not always display solid when it is full depending on sun conditions.

Will the SC002, SC003, SC006 or SC007 work on laptops?
No. However a model to handle a laptops power is in development at the moment.

How long will the charger last on the B.O.B. if I don’t use it?
The solar charger works like a cell phone in the way that if you don’t use it the battery will deplete at approximately 2% per day. Therefore, if it is not used within a 2 month period, you will have to re-charge the B.O.B. again.

What happens if the product breaks? Is there a warranty?
Yes, Solar Style will provide a one-year warranty for manufacturer defects and product failure on all of its products, and a life-time warranty on the solar panels themselves. However, we don’t cover misuse to the unit and cover water damage.

If I have more then one device I want to charge or I get a new cell phone do I have to buy a whole new solar charger?
The beauty of our solar charger is that you don’t have to buy have a new charger for each device you own. Using our standard connectors, you can interchange or purchase separately connectors for many of the latest and most popular devices out there. Therefore, if you have a cell phone, a MP3 player and a PDA, you will only need one solar charger, but 3 different connectors. Can I plug in two devices at once to the Solar Charger?
The Solar Charger is designed to charge one device at a time. Connecting more would drain the battery too quickly and if it were to run off solar, there would not be enough power.

Can I plug in my device, while the Solar Charger is charging?
Yes, you can charge your device while the charger is charging; however it recommended that the B.O.B. be at lease 20% charged before you do this. This way your device will be charging from the sunlight and battery, giving you better results longer, no matter what the conditions.

How long does it take to charge a device with the solar charger?
The answer to this question depends on the model used and the device being charged. Comparing the size of the Battery On Board, with the battery in the device being charge and then factoring in the sun light conditions it can range from; providing only a partial charge at night in about an hour, to a full charge using a combination of stored On Board power and the new energy being collected by the panels in 5-6 hours.

When I purchase a solar charger does it come with connectors or do I have to purchase them separately?
Depending on where and when you buy there are a number of variations and special packages out there, some with connectors and some without. The good news is that connectors are always available for on our web site www.solarstyle.com and may be available at your point of purchase.

What is the return policy?
For Web purchases directly from Solar Style, unopened products may be returned, with a full refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping) within 14 days of purchase. Opened products can only be returned if they have been deemed defective. We will then provide the customer with a replacement unit. IF we determine the misuse or negligence plaid a part in the products failure we reserve the right to reject returns. Purchases from retailers are handled according to the retailers return policy.

Can a Solar Style product be shipped to my PO Box?
No, We use FedEx to ship our products and they will not ship to a PO Box.
